This is the site of the Independent Personal Protection Association.
We were founded by a group of concerned individuals and local companies to further the cause of workplace protection in the UK.
Although the government and national legislation does much to protect the health and safety of the worker or employee, there are still many companies chosing to ignore their obligations. Perhaps more importantly, legislation is not always enforced, and in many cases has not been thought through clearly.
We aim to try and reduce the number of workplace injuries caused by these shortcomings.
A Few Words On Safety Boots
Following a meeting I had at a recent Chamber of Commerce meeting, I think we need to raise awareness of the need for safety boots once again.
As we are all well aware, (and part of the reason for the existence of the IPPA), workplace health and safety is considered by most people as an unavoidable nuisance. Clearly, this is the wrong approach to take. If you are going to spend money on workplace safety, safety footwear should be your first purchase. It is the most important way to keep yourself, and your employees, safe in almost every workplace. In fact, even if your workplace does not present obvious threats to foot safety, it is still a good idea. Despite the fact that you're just inside an office facility, there is still a need to protect against accident. Buying good quality safety boots is not always expensive, if you think so, just compare the prices at Safety Boots online. Taking good care of yourself and your staff is an obligation you should do, not only for legal reasons, but also for efficiency.
Complacency is not the magic word while working. You can not be too comfortable even if you have been in that field for quite a while. Doing work at a construction site for ten or twenty years does not allow you to be invincible from known dangers. It only needs a short time of negligence for a serious accident to occur. You would then need to live with the regret for the rest of your life.
Dont think that its wasteful to purchase safety boots mainly because when you are hurt, you will be partly or completely disabled. Thats not good news for your manager, and neither is this great news for your family or you. You want to be as productive as usual. However, you cannot be helpful if you are on a wheelchair having bandages all over your foot.
So now, what could safety shoes and boots offer you? These particular shoes or boots are made from durable materials that can survive various types of dangers. There happen to be shoes and boots with steel toe caps which safeguard your toes and feet against falling and sharp objects. There are also boots and shoes that have steel sole plates which will give protection to your feet in case you set foot on sharp materials that will otherwise cut within the sole of the shoe and wound you. Now there are shoes that shield you from chemicals or heat. They are available in different types and each one is designed for a particular environment.
When you come to a decision to buy safety footwear, go surfing and check out protective shoes and you will find a tremendous selection. Choosing can be difficult as there's a lot of good stuff on the market. You want to choose the right footwear for you. They all are good however look for the things you really need as well as what's suitable for the area you are working in.
One problem people have for protective shoes is they are huge. Old footwear are truly large and a few new ones are also. However, producers have gradually changed the material work shoes are made of to make certain they are far more convenient. There are footwear products these days which are nice to the feet even though some shoes and boots remain heavy, hard, and bulky. Comfort and ease is very important for users. What's the purpose of putting on protective shoes if your toes get sore after the day?
The single thing you need is get the right size. Tight shoes and boots would touch painfully against your foot. Have a look at the various safety work shoes on the net. You certainly would come across at least one thats good for you.
